Olympic Torch

So the Olympic torch passed through Deptford yesterday, it was a great turnout. I never assume people where I live would really be bothered by such a thing. It was nice seeing everyone cheering and getting into the spirit of things.

I wish I could have been able to get the Olympic tickets I wanted but I shall still be watching the opening ceremony on Friday. Hopefully it will make me feel proud to be British.

More Grand Design Live Pictures

Just wanted to show some more pictures I look during Grand Design! Unfortunately my camera decided to die on me before I even left the house, so all I had was my trusty mobile phone...which eventually died too...But here is what I managed to get! Such a great exhibition! Can't wait until next year!

Grand Design Live

I have been very busy as of late, so am just finding the time to post now! I spent last saturday with my mother, at the Grand Design Live exhibit at Excel London. There were some stunning interiors and furnishings! If only I had a huge house to put it all in!

I even got to see the man himself...Kevin Mccloud!

It occurred to me as I was walking around, how "British" everything has become, what with the Queens Jubilee, everyone seems to be feeling particularly British lately. Here are some snaps I took while walking around.

I actually felt proud to be British...well it made me want to wave a Union Jack Flag anyway :)

Been a While

Its been a little while since my last post. I have been a busy bee trying to sort bits and pieces out, as well as going up to Leeds to visit my lovely friend Chevonne. I have really missed it up there! I am now considering moving up there if I can find work. Here are some lovely images from Temple Newsam on one of my days out.

I have been looking through my uni sketchbooks and working on my portfolio this past few weeks as I have a placement with an amazing company on Monday! I'm not gonna drop names yet! I want to start it first, but I am very much looking forward to it. :)
Its great looking back through old work and picking up on new ideas from old projects. I am constantly thinking things could be developed further. Here's a few snippets from my books.

Thursday, 16 February 2012

I just found out that one of my photographs was voted runner up in a Tigerprint competition called "Teenage Years." I am so happy as this is only the second competition I have entered and to get runner up feels great!

Being runner up I win a lovely book called "A Year of Mornings"

I also got 2 in the top 17!

Here are the designs (first "party time" was the runner up. "be dazzling" in the top 17)

Getting back on track

I have decided that I needed to get my ass into gear!

I felt like I had been sitting around moping about what I cannot do and the things that havent been working out for me, instead of seeing what it is I can do. Some things do not always work out as planned, and there will be a lot of times when things will fail. I have to pick myself up and carry on.

I decided to enter a competition at Tigerprint and it helped motivate me to carry on designing. I am currently looking for placements and jobs, and am possitive that I will find something.

Heres some bits and pieces I have been working on the last couple of days.

Blocked

Since the christmas Period has ended my mind has been elsewhere...not really sure where. I need to start designing again, but I just cannot seem to motivate myself. Hopefully over the next few days I can motivate myself.

Finding a job is not easy either. Hopefully that will pick up soon too :) I have faith :)

On a plus note, I graduated on December 6th 2011. I am now a Design Graduate. It was a lovely day, even if I was overcome with the flu. Just received my professional graduation pictures today. It was a lovely reminder.

Here is one taken on the day. Thank you to Darren for being a lovely photographer. Thats Chevonne Mckenzie on the right. A great friend and Designer. Check out here blog here
